Networking in Kincardine and Mearns

On Thursday 30 July, our two Community Development Officers had the pleasure of attending a lively community event at Stonehaven Town Hall, hosted by Kincardine & Mearns Citizens Advice Bureau. The event brought together local businesses, charities and organisations working across the district, all sharing the important work they do to support people and strengthen connections across the area.

Lynne Hastie got to work chatting exchanging contact details whilst promoting and sharing the Groups we support in Stonehaven. What better way for our newest recruit to network than by manning a table with a welcoming friendly face. Both Laura and Lynne also walked round the neighbouring stalls, picking up freebies along the way.

The hall was full of friendly faces, helpful conversations and a real sense of community spirit.

Stalls from Employability Services, Pillar, Befrienders, Citizens Advice, Fire and Rescue, the Community Bobby and the RNLI gave local people the chance to find out more about the support, services and volunteering opportunities available in Stonehaven and the surrounding areas.

The tables were bursting with freebies — and we all love a freebie! From books, pens and mugs to stress balls, leaflets and information, there was plenty for everyone to browse and take away. It was a fantastic opportunity for ACR to make positive connections; promote our work and shout about the difference we are making across Aberdeenshire. With local people coming along, chatting, asking questions and getting involved, the event created a warm, welcoming atmosphere and great community vibes for the town.
